Introduction to Engineering Center
The National Nanodrug Engineering Technology Research Center was established in 2009 with the approval of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, relying on Huazhong University of Science and Technology. It brings together outstanding talents engaged in biopharmaceutical research and development at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and through strong alliances, forms a cross disciplinary, complementary, and structurally sound research and development team. At present, we have a professional interdisciplinary research team consisting of over 200 members, including associate professors, project development personnel, project management and drug administration approval personnel, engineering and technical personnel, as well as master's and doctoral students, engaged in the research and development of nanomedicine and nanocarriers. In the past five years, we have undertaken more than 50 national level scientific research projects, including the "973" Program (Chief Scientist Unit), the "863" Program, the Science and Technology Support Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the "Major New Drug Creation" Science and Technology Major Special Project. Published over 300 SCI papers, edited 3 monographs on nanomedicine (Nanomedicine, Nanopharmaceuticals, Nanodrug Safety), obtained over 100 national invention patents, and obtained over 30 new drug certificates. The National Nanodrug Engineering Technology Research Center is also the construction unit of the National Development and Reform Commission's "Wuhan National Biological Industry Base Biomedical Technology Service Platform" (established in 2008), the Ministry of Science and Technology's "National Major New Drug Creation Major Special Project - Wuhan Comprehensive Platform: Nanodrug Projects and Characteristic Platforms" (established in 2009), and the Ministry of Science and Technology's "National Major New Drug Creation Major Special Project - Wuhan Innovative Drug Research and Development Technology System Nanodrug Delivery System and Advanced Drug Delivery Technology Platform" (established in 2010). It has a first-class nanomedicine biotechnology research technology platform and excellent research conditions in China. It is located in Guanggu Bio City, Wuhan National Biological Industry Base, with a total area of 5000 square meters2The laboratory has been built to nearly 10000 meters in accordance with GMP standards2The pilot production base has over 200 large-scale instruments and equipment for the preparation and characterization of nanomedicines and nanointermediates, with a value of more than 60 million yuan. It has strong research and development capabilities and the ability to produce nanomedicines and nanocarriers in pilot and large-scale production.
