Obtained from the mature seeds of the medicinal plant Perilla frutescens in the family Lamiaceae, this natural plant oil has the highest content of alpha linolenic acid and has anti-aging, skin barrier strengthening, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects. But it is very sensitive to oxygen, light, and heat, easily oxidized and deteriorated, with poor water solubility and dispersibility, which seriously limits its application range.
